A UNIVERSE OF COMFORT
Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club is open all year long. The building consists of the Golf Club and the Resort, situated on the coast inside the Dune Oasis of Tirrenia, in the pine wood of the Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli Nature Reserve. The Club can be reached in a few minutes from Pisa and its airport, but also from Viareggio and Livorno. It is also well connected to the most important Tuscan tourist cities such as Florence, Lucca and Siena.

The Club House., designed by Aldo Rossi, Pritzker prize-winner and an expert in Italian Architecture, this is a valuable and functional addition to the site whose rational lines recall the famous past of the area now dedicated to green, where once there stood the Pisorno Studios.
The model of the complex is now exhibited in Paris at the Beaubourg Museum along with other illustrious examples of modern Italian architecture.
History
1930s
FILM STUDIOS
From Hollywood to the Greens, the beautiful story of the Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club in Tirrenia begins in the 1930s.
The Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club of Tirrenia is linked to the golden age of Pisorno, the film studios, which in the 1930s, when the Turin studios became obsolete and Cinecittà did not yet exist, brought Hollywood into the pine wood, filling it with stars.
Unfortunately, while films such as “Campo di Maggio”, based on the Hundred Days of Napoleon in Elba were being shot, the Second World War moved forward and turned off the stage lights on the new studios, sealing their fate.
To give new hope to the people who lived and worked on the coast, in 1960, Carlo Ponti and Sofia Loren bought the film studios, calling them Cosmopolitan Film and attracting directors and artists of the calibre of De Sica, Fellini, Ferreri and Monicelli, as well as divas such as Claudia Cardinale and Annie Girardot.

1979
GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB
In 1979, Carlo Ponti’s daughter and his son-in-law, Guendalina and Walter Veltroni, began to develop the area towards tourism, and started building the golf course and the other infrastructure for tourists.
Since 2001
THE CURRENT MANAGEMENT
Since 2001, the area has become the property of local businessmen, and now the Golf Club is one of the most popular in Tuscany.
Well connected to Pisa and to Galileo Galilei airport, great players have been trained here, some of whom have played in the Italian national team over the years and others today are excellent coaches.
